BLACK TIE THCA ALTERNATIVES: PREMIUM FLOWER FOR LESS PER GRAM
Share
QUICK ANSWER: LIT Farms tops our list of Black Tie THCA alternatives on price per gram. Our Supreme ounces were priced at $119.99, or $4.29 a gram, while Black Tie's 29+ gram Exotic ounce costs $279.99, or up to $9.65 a gram, as of October 1, 2026. Ours was the only top-tier ounce under $5 a gram among the five premium shops we priced, and each Supreme listing links a downloadable COA.
If you've been buying Black Tie THCA, you probably rate the flower and wince a little at the receipt. An Exotic ounce costs $279.99, which is a lot to spend before you've checked whether another shop can match it for less.
That's harder to judge than it looks, because every premium shop names its top shelf differently. A fairer comparison starts with what a gram actually costs, then looks at how much each shop tells you about the batch in the bag.
We ran Black Tie's top tier against four premium shops, our own included, on those two points. The cheapest of these Black Tie THCA alternatives gets you more than twice the flower for the same money, though Black Tie still makes sense in a few specific cases.
We're LIT Farms, and our Supreme tier is one of the five options we priced. We pulled every price and lab figure from the shops' own listings on October 1, 2026, and we name the spots where Black Tie or another shop beats us.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Black Tie's Exotic ounce worked out to at most $9.65 a gram on October 1, 2026, close to Secret Nature at $9.25 and Lucky Elk at $8.71 to $10.71, while Arete's S Tier ran $12.82. A Supreme ounce from us cost $4.29 a gram, less than half of Black Tie's figure.
- An award reflects the strain and harvest a shop entered in one competition, so it says little about the bag on sale this month. A batch-matched certificate of analysis verifies what the lab measured in a sample from that batch, provided its numbers match the listing.
- Black Tie's in-stock Exotic strains carried harvest months from January to July 2026. Air-dried buds stored for three months lost 55.2% of their terpene content in a 1996 study, so time in the jar is worth checking before you pay top-shelf prices.
- LIT Farms sells Supreme ounces at $119.99 and Supreme eighths at $24.99, with Preferred ounces at $59.99 to $69.99 for everyday premium smoking. Our menu turns over about every five days, and orders from $125 ship free. Shop premium flower while this week's strains last.
TOP BLACK TIE ALTERNATIVES, IN SHORT
Depending on why you'd shop Black Tie in the first place:
- Best value premium ounce: LIT Farms. A Supreme ounce costs $119.99 for 28 grams, which comes to $4.29 a gram against up to $9.65 for Black Tie Exotic.
- Best for single eighths: Lucky Elk. It carried more than 10 AAAA Exotic strains in 3.5-gram bags when we checked, priced from $36 to $45.
- Best for collectors: Arete. Its S Tier sits on top of an eight-grade ladder, and Bruce Banner #3 listed 39.6% THCA at $44.98 an eighth.
PREMIUM THCA VENDORS TO TRY INSTEAD
Prices come from each shop's own listings on October 1, 2026. For all five shops, we used the price displayed on the listing before coupons, subscriptions or checkout discounts.
For a wider field, our THCA brands ranking compares eight shops on price per gram.
1. LIT FARMS

Best for: premium ounce buyers who want top-shelf buds for the least money per gram among the five shops.
- Top tier: Supreme, $119.99 an ounce and $24.99 an eighth
- Price per gram: $4.29 by the ounce, $7.14 by the eighth
- Everyday premium: Preferred, $59.99 to $69.99 an ounce, or $2.14 to $2.50 a gram
- Testing: THCA and Delta-9 sit next to the price on every listing, and each one links a downloadable COA
- Shipping: free from $125, with orders leaving in 2 to 3 business days and 17 states we can't ship to
Supreme is the top grade we sell, picked by hand for tight structure, thick trichome coverage and a strong nose. Preferred draws on the same strains and grow, with more variety in bud size.
In stock on October 1:
- Supreme ounces: Blue Zushi, Black Magic, Rainbow Marker, Oakland Runtz, Gelatti, Jelly Cake, Purple Candy, Warheads and Gorilla Glue
- Supreme eighths: Formula One and Zereal
- Preferred ounces: Mile High Slurpee, Blue Andies and Rainbow Runtz
Why it wins: two Supreme ounces cost $239.98, $40 less than the $279.99 Black Tie charges for one Exotic ounce.
Where it falls short: we don't print a harvest month, and Supreme eighths cover only a couple of strains at a time, while every Black Tie Exotic strain comes in an eighth.
Shop Supreme ounces before this week's strains sell through.
2. SECRET NATURE

Best for: shoppers who want a documented cold cure and nitrogen-sealed bags.
- Top tier: indoor flower, $49 an eighth and $259 an ounce on the strains in stock
- Price per gram: $14.00 by the eighth, $9.25 by the ounce
- Testing: THCA, Delta-9 and total cannabinoids on the listing, plus the lab and test month
- Shipping: free over $99 and available in all 50 states. Its listings say most orders ship within 1 to 2 business days, while its shipping policy allows 2 to 3 business days for processing
Secret Nature says its indoor flower is cold-cured at 60°F for 14 or more days and packed in double-sealed, nitrogen-flushed bags. It describes the flower as USDA-certified organic, and its Black Cherries listing shows 28.50% THCA from a February 2026 Badger Labs test.
Why it wins: the listing states the cure temperature and length, plus how the bag is sealed, so you know how the flower was handled before it shipped.
Where it falls short: at $14.00 a gram, its eighth costs the most per gram of the five shops, and its ounce came in only $20.99 under Black Tie's.
3. LUCKY ELK

Best for: trying top-shelf strains one eighth at a time.
- Top tier: AAAA Exotic, $36 to $45 an eighth and $244 to $300 an ounce
- Price per gram: $10.29 to $12.86 by the eighth, $8.71 to $10.71 by the ounce
- Testing: THCA and total cannabinoids printed on the listing, with Delta-9 shown as "<0.3%"
- Shipping: free from $100, with 10 states on its no-ship list and orders packed within 1 to 3 business days
Lucky Elk describes its AAAA collection as indoor flower with standout genetics and terpene profiles, and every strain in it comes in sizes from 1 gram to 28 grams.
Why it wins: more than 10 AAAA strains were in stock in eighth bags, so you can work through the top shelf without buying an ounce of anything.
Where it falls short: its priciest AAAA ounce, Tropicana Cherry, costs $300, more than Black Tie's Exotic. Our Lucky Elk comparison covers its grades and shipping in more depth.
4. ARETE

Best for: collectors who want the top THCA reading in the group and written grade definitions.
- Top tier: S Tier, $44.98 an eighth and $358.98 an ounce
- Price per gram: $12.85 by the eighth, $12.82 by the ounce
- One step down: AAAA, $35 an eighth and $234.98 an ounce, or $10.00 and $8.39 a gram
- Testing: lab report PDF linked from the listing
- Shipping: free over $100, with same-day dispatch for orders in by 1 p.m. on weekdays
- Rewards: 1 point per $1 spent across four tiers, redeemable at 100 points per $1 of store credit, with points expiring after 12 months
Its Bruce Banner #3 listing describes indoor, living-soil flower, and Arete publishes a written definition for each of its eight grades.
Why it wins: Bruce Banner #3 listed 39.6% THCA, the top reading across all five shops.
Where it falls short: at $12.82 a gram, the S Tier ounce is the most expensive of the five, more than $3 a gram above Black Tie Exotic.
WHAT BLACK TIE SELLS
Black Tie CBD says it was founded in 2018. Its THCA flower menu describes cultivars sourced from vetted growers in Oregon and California.
Their THCA flower comes in four grow tiers, plus a few cheaper formats:
- Exotic. Living-soil indoor flower with what Black Tie calls an extended cure. $15 a gram, $44.99 an eighth and $279.99 for an ounce of 29+ grams.
- Indoor. $12.50 a gram, $37.99 an eighth and $249.99 an ounce on full-price strains.
- Light Dep / Light Assist. $9.99 a gram, $27.99 an eighth and $169.99 an ounce.
- Greenhouse, Minis and shake. Greenhouse flower, Indoor Minis (popcorn buds) at $129.99 an ounce and Indoor trim at $44.99 an ounce.
- Beyond flower. THCA live rosin budder from $59.99, temple ball and Moroccan hash, THC gummies, seltzers and syrups, CBD products and strain-themed T-shirts.
Orders carry a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on unopened or lightly used items, and subscribers get 18% off.
Black Tie leans hard on its awards. It calls itself the only hemp company to enter and place in a High Times Cannabis Cup, and its "Our Story" history lists a 2023 High Times Hemp Cup first place for Best Psychoactive Hemp Flower.
The same history adds a 2019 High Times DOPE Cup second place and Oregon Growers Cup honors.
TOP SHELF PRICE PER GRAM, COMPARED
Black Tie's Exotic tier lands in the middle of the premium pack, and our Supreme ounce costs less per gram than any of it. All figures use each shop's top tier at the displayed price on October 1, 2026.
Black Tie sells its ounce as 29+ grams, so we divided its price by 29, which makes $9.65 the most a gram can cost at its stated minimum weight. Every other shop's ounce is 28 grams.

Two Supreme ounces cost $239.98. That's $40 under one Black Tie Exotic ounce, for 56 grams against Black Tie's 29+.
Stepping down a tier doesn't close the gap. Black Tie's Indoor ounce comes to $8.62 a gram at most and Arete's AAAA to $8.39, both well above Supreme. Black Tie's Indoor Minis cost $129.99 an ounce, still more than a Supreme ounce, and they're popcorn buds while Supreme is full-size flower.
What the extra dollars buy at each grade is a separate question, and our breakdown of top-shelf THCA flower walks through it on our own menu.
BLACK TIE VS SECRET NATURE VS LIT FARMS
Black Tie CBD vs Secret Nature is close on the ounce, and both cost more than double what our Supreme does per gram. They differ more on what each shop says about freshness and testing.

- On price: Secret Nature's ounce costs $20.99 less than Black Tie's, and a Supreme ounce costs $160.00 less.
- On freshness: Black Tie is the only one of the three that prints a harvest month. Secret Nature documents its cure and its seal, and we publish how fast our menu turns and the humidity we bag at.
- On testing: all three put THCA and Delta-9 on the listing. Black Tie calls several of its Exotic reports full panel, and the Boston George file covers potency, pesticides and heavy metals.
Black Tie suits buyers who want a harvest date on the listing, and Secret Nature suits buyers who care most about how flower is cured and sealed. When the per-gram price decides the order, a Supreme ounce wins by roughly $5 a gram.
WHAT REVIEWERS SAY ABOUT BLACK TIE
Recent feedback on Black Tie’s THCA flower is mixed, with consistency coming up more than once.
On Trustpilot, an April 2026 buyer who ordered a half-ounce of Gummy Bearz THCA flower gave the order two stars, saying the flower lacked flavor and felt underwhelming. Other flower reviews describe a similar batch-to-batch issue, with some buyers reporting that a strong first order was followed by a noticeably weaker one.

Reddit feedback points in both directions too.
In a discussion specifically about CBD and THCA flower vendors, one commenter criticized Black Tie’s high-THCA flower, while another defended its newer THCA lineup. Taken together, the reviews suggest that Black Tie can deliver well-liked flower, but the experience may vary by strain and batch rather than being consistent across the menu.
Video and hands-on reviews also tend to be strain-specific rather than brand-wide, which is another reason to judge Black Tie batch by batch instead of treating its whole flower menu as one quality level.
READING A PREMIUM COA
Awards and grow labels tell you about the brand. A batch-matched certificate of analysis tells you what a lab measured in a sample from the batch you're buying, so it's the one to read before you spend top-shelf money.
Neither claim shows up on the report itself. A competition judges one entry from one harvest, and a lab measures what's in the sample, so the grow method comes from the seller, not the test.
Six things to check on any premium COA:
- Strain and batch. The strain name and batch or sample ID should match the listing you're buying from.
- Test date. Compare it with any harvest date the seller publishes. The test date alone doesn't establish when the plant was harvested.
- Lab. Look for an independent lab named on the report and whether it lists ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
- Cannabinoid totals. THCA, Delta-9 THC and total cannabinoids should match the numbers printed beside the price.
- Safety panels. A full panel adds pesticides, heavy metals and microbials, while a potency-only report covers cannabinoids alone.
- Terpenes. Not every lab reports them, but at top-shelf prices the terpene total is the closest thing on paper to aroma.
Take Black Tie's Boston George. Its listing gives 29.677% THCA, non-detectable Delta-9, 30.48% total cannabinoids and a January 2026 harvest, and the linked file is labeled as an SC Labs potency, pesticides and heavy metals report from that month.
On our side, Black Magic in Supreme lists 23.846% THCA and 0.2136% Delta-9 beside a downloadable COA, with the rest of our reports in the COA library.
If THCA percentage is your main filter, our list of the highest-tested batches ranks them.
WHY FRESHNESS MATTERS MORE AT THE TOP SHELF
Terpenes give a strain its smell and much of its bag appeal, and they fade as flower sits. In a 1996 study in the Journal of Natural Products, air-dried buds lost 31.0% of their terpene content after one week of storage, 44.8% after one month and 55.2% after three months.
Those figures came from air-dried flower under the study's storage conditions, so they shouldn't be applied directly to sealed retail packaging. They still explain why a harvest month is worth checking at $279.99 an ounce.

At LIT Farms, we keep flower moving instead. Nothing sits with us for months. Stock cycles through in roughly five days, and our packing room's air conditioning keeps humidity between 65% and 72% while bags are filled.
Buyers used to dry dispensary flower sometimes notice the buds feel springier in the hand. That's the bagging humidity at work, and the flower is ready to smoke as it arrives. We don't print a harvest month, so judge us on turnover and packing, the two things we do publish.
WHEN BLACK TIE IS WORTH THE PREMIUM
Black Tie is the better buy in a handful of situations, and you should know them before you order anywhere:
- You want a specific award strain. Black Tie's July 2026 press release credits Candy Gas with a first place at the High Times Hemp Cup, and Candy Gas was on its Indoor menu on October 1. If that exact award-winning release is what you're after, Black Tie is the only place to get it.
- You want concentrates or edibles. Black Tie sells live rosin, hash, THC gummies, seltzers and syrups. We sell flower and THC drinks.
- You live where we can't ship. Black Tie's shipping policy covers 15 states on our exclusion list: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Washington. Look up your state's hemp rules before ordering. Texas works the other way, since Black Tie won't ship there and we do.
- You want to sample before committing. Single Exotic grams cost $15, a three-gram Indoor sampler costs $35.99, and the 30-day guarantee covers unopened or lightly used items.
If none of those apply, our THCA flower vendor roundup lines up nine shops side by side.
PUT A SUPREME OUNCE UP AGAINST YOUR LAST BLACK TIE ORDER
A Black Tie Exotic ounce costs $279.99, or up to $9.65 a gram. A Supreme ounce costs $119.99, or $4.29 a gram, so the same money buys two of ours with $40 left over. Oakland Runtz and Blue Zushi are two of this week's Supreme ounces, each listing its THCA and Delta-9 next to the price, and orders ship free from $125.
BLACK TIE ALTERNATIVES FAQ
IS BLACK TIE CBD LEGIT?
Black Tie CBD has sold hemp online since 2018, according to its own history. Its flower listings show THCA, Delta-9 and a harvest month with a linked lab report, and orders carry a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
On Trustpilot it held 3.7 out of 5 across 679 reviews on October 1, 2026, and complaints there center on batch consistency and refunds.
WHO SELLS THE HIGHEST QUALITY THCA FLOWER?
Two useful checks are a batch-matched COA and whatever freshness information the seller publishes. For LIT Farms, that means roughly five-day inventory turnover and 65% to 72% humidity at bagging. On those checks and on price, our Supreme tier at $4.29 a gram is where we'd start.
Judged by THCA percentage alone, Arete's Bruce Banner #3 posted the top reading we found, at 39.6%.
WHERE DOES BLACK TIE CBD SHIP?
Black Tie's shipping policy covers 47 states and U.S. minor outlying territories, excluding California, Idaho and Texas. It ships via USPS and UPS, orders over $100 go out free by USPS Priority Mail, and processing can take up to 72 hours.
IS BLACK TIE CBD BETTER THAN SECRET NATURE?
On price, the two are close. On October 1, 2026, Secret Nature's indoor ounce cost $259, or $9.25 a gram, against $279.99 for Black Tie's 29+ gram Exotic ounce at up to $9.65 a gram. Black Tie's eighth was cheaper, at $44.99 versus $49.
Black Tie prints harvest months, and Secret Nature documents a cold cure and nitrogen-flushed packaging.
